Animal Experiences 

Brockholes Farm is not open to members of the public. If you are staying with us you can choose a combination of encounters included in the cost of your stay. 

 Day visitors must each have a booking either for an experience or for accompanying an experience person.

Perfect for Explorers of all ages our animal encounters and family fun will give you first hand experience of what it takes to be an animal carer.   Exciting opportunities to come face to face with some of our interesting characters! 

Here at Brockholes our general tours typically include thee chance to encounter our Pygmy Goats, Flocks of sheep - oessants, herdwicks, icelandics, babydoll, ryeland sheep and of course the Brockholes blacknoses, Pigs, Reindeer, Donkeys, Capybara, Chickens ducks and geese.

Our Animal encounters are led by one of our animal lovers, you'll  have the chance of being in their space, offering them food, even helping with daily animal checks and grooming.

armed with fresh treats - join us in a wander to meet our happy herdys out in the fields (or barn, weather dependent).


Naturally shy, our herdys live and mix with the rest of our sheep on a day to day basis but are more confident meeting their new human friends in a smaller group where they will get our total and undivided attention.

Family Animal Keeper  Morning  

Want a memorable experience for all the family as you Join us behind the scenes for some quality family time where you can meet all of our animals.

This experience follows the same format and content as the junior keeper but instead of kids only its for the whole family to enjoy together.

Note this is a more physical experience than the farm tour.
