Meet the Babydolls

Meet the Babydoll experience

Meet the Babydolls: the rare little sheep with the big history!

We’re off to meet the Woollies, the Wonderful Woollies of Brockholes!
Meet us at the “Baaaaa” where the welcome brews are on us (or squash, little ones!) and whack on your wellies (even in summer these beautiful little grotters can generate a fair bit of mud!) then, armed with fresh treats - join us in a wander to meet our beautiful babydolls
The Old English Babydoll Southdowns are a rare, ancient breed of sheep with only 200 registered in the UK . And you can meet 3 right here at Brockholes farm!

Naturally inquisitive and incredibly brave for their sixe, our babydolls like to be the centre of attention, if we are honest the world obviously revolves around them (and why wouldn’t it?) so these little precious ones have their own paddock which they share with Dipsy the Premature hand reared herdwick - So off to the mini monsters paddock we go! Alongside whatever attention they need that day (from grooming to footchecks to weighing) we will chat about their routines, their various personalities, and just how much of an honour it is to house these little rare beauties! They also generally can’t resist a handful of their favourite sheep food and a head scratch.
We’ll also pass by some of our other resident farm friends on the way (and give them some treats of course!), including our Special Attention Field where anyone who may need a little extra special care lives.

You are then free to explore the farm, take a walk along the river, get all nostalgic on our fairy tale trail, get to grips with nature on our habitat trail or say hi to the rest of the farm residents again.

Meeting the sheep is generally an outdoor event and we encourage you to come prepared for Cumbrian weather!
