In picturesque Appleby, the Dog Friendly Crown & Cushion sits on the main street, with limited parking out front - please ask the lovely bar team for a parking permit! We whole-heartedly recommend at least one trip to this lovely pub as we have yet to order something that isn't absolutely delicious! The Steak and Ale pie and the Cushion Hot Pot are delicious! They also serve up traditional bar meals such as scampi and gammon, some tasty sandwiches and burgers and a lovely cajun chicken. Your furry friends can also order from the delightful dog menu!

You will find Fellbites cafe in the stunning (and often unknown) village of Glenridding at the Southern end of Ullswater. Park in the central public cark park to the right of the river and you will be virtually at the entrance door of this delight! You can expect to enjoy premium sandwiches, delicious cumberland loaded hot dogs, chicken wings, burgers, loaded fries, amazing pie, fish and chips.....and even a little tipple if you wish as the cafe is licensed! There is outdoor and indoor seating, and furry family members are very welcome! The loaded fries with spicy buffalo chicken and melted cheese are to die for!

Situated off the main road (clarly signposted) between the market towns of Sedbergh and Kirkby Stephen the Fat Lamb is accessed via a country lane, so offers a nice little drive as well as exceptionally good food and a warm friendly welcome. The menu includes prime lakeland steaks, lamb chops, homemade pies, homemade burger, fish dishes and a beef and guinness casserole. Crossbank Nature Reserve at the back of the inn began as a hobby at the end of the eighties, and now the Inn has created a well established wildlife haven for over 80 species of bird, frogs, toads and newts, roe deer, stoats, foxes, badgers and elusive otters!
